SERVPRO of East Portland was called out to a retail facility in Portland, OR that had smoke damage. The coffee shop next door caught on fire and affected the surrounding buildings. Our trained techs immediately responded to the loss and began the cleaning process. There are a few steps to cleaning and deodorizing a smoke damaged building and their contents.
- Pack out: Our crews will begin by packing contents/items from the smoke damaged building and delivering them to SERVPRO’s cleaning facility. Removing items/contents from an affected area as soon as possible helps to prevent further smoke damage.
- Equipment: Our techs safety is key. Equipment such as air scrubbers are placed in the building to start filtering and cleaning the air of smoke residues. PPE such as tyvek suits, respirators, gloves, etc are worn by our techs while handling smoke damaged items.
- Cleaning/Deodorizing: As soon as items/contents arrive at SERVPRO’s cleaning facility the cleaning process begins. We use SERVPRO cleaning products to remove soot and odor residues. Ozone or Hydroxyl chambers are used to deodorize smoke odors from contents.
